Take Care, Maria

Q?" I am sure you get tons of these emails but we are coming to Branson for the first time, May 3-7th we want to see Mickey Gilly, Moe Bandy and any of the older country stars as we can. Where can we get a list of actual entertainers that will be there at the time we will be and how can we get tickets ahead?

we are also going to slip over to Memphis on the 6th to see Jerry Lee at the Beal Street Music Festival.

If you have any other suggestions feel free to share them with us we want to get the most out of our trip.

Thanks
Glennda and Terry Bickley

A: Please go to our shows directory.  You will find all shows websites there with their schedules.

Q?" Hi there,

We have been told so much about Branson MO by our friends in Nebraska and are at this moment planning a two week vacation as a celebration of our Golden Wedding.

My wife and I will be traveling with two of our best friends and plan to stay for a full two weeks. I have emailed a number of Hotels and Condos but not had any replies to say when they start taking bookings. Could you help us with this and maybe suggest the best places for us to stay.

We would be traveling from Manchester England on 1st September 07 and returning on 15th September.

Looking forward to your reply.

Ian McNab.

A: Traveling in 07 leaves you plenty time. Many may not even
begin taking reservation for 2007 until later in the year.
I will do a little research to find a couple
recommendations. As you will be here that long, I am sure
you will want to stay in a condo or cabin, as a hotel
would just be to small for that length of time. Plus with
a condo or cabin you could cook and eat there if you
wanted and you would also have access to laundry
facilities.

I will get back with you next week after I have time to
look around.

ANSWER: Here is the address and phone number for his show. He will be at the Chavelle Theatre in the 2006 season. Joey Riley Comedy Review, 2206 W Hwy 76, Branson, MO 65616, Toll-Free: (866) 306-7469. If you will call the show, they may be able to help you.

Q?" Hello! I was wondering if you know anything about the new show being started by Jimmy Ponder from NEW SOUTH. He was formerly with the GRAND JUBILEE. Since all the mess and happenings over there, several have been forced to make new starts in your town. Do you know anything about their show? Someone should do a good
write-up about Jimmy and his lovely wife Diana. I'm sure this new show will be a hit. If you have any info on it at all, please let me know! Thank you and have a great day!

ANSWER: They have a new show called The Branson Brothers. They will play at the Bart Rocket Theatre. Here is the website: http://www.bransonbrothers.com/. Not sure if they have a schedule there, but you could call them to find out.

Q?" Is the Chuck Wagon Gang scheduled to make an appearance in Branson in the year 2006? Or do you know where I can get a schedule of their appearances, anywhere?

Norval L
Troy, MO

Q?" We are thinking of a trip to Branson in 2006. We've never been there
before. We want to fly, but have several questions:

1.We will be coming from New Jersey and we will rent a car when we get to the airport. Is it closer to St. Louis or Tulsa? I see Springfield , MO has an airport, but I suspect flights will be expensive into that airport, but I will nonetheless research it.

ANSWER: While Springfield is a smaller airport, they do have a lot of service and would be worth checking into. They are only 30 minutes away. St. Louis would be about 4 hours away. Not sure about Tulsa.

2.We would also prefer to go when it is not so crowded there. I've heard of traffic horror stories at peak times. Is Branson very active in the Spring and Fall? (we don't care for outdoor swimming or golf, so we really don't need to go in the Summer).

ANSWER: Spring is probably the slowest time. I suggest April for May, but before Memorial weekend—the official start. Branson just gets swinging in late March and almost everything is up by early April. You would not have any problems with the crowds. Of course weekends are busy, but still not bad.

Having said that, the Fall is so beautiful in the Ozarks. Silver Dollar City is especially nice. Traffic would be okay during this season, but not as slow as spring.

Q?" When is the best time to come to Branson, MO?

Answer:  That depends on why you are coming, how old you are and do you have children.  If you want to avoid crowds, coming April and September are 2 good months.  For shopping come now.

Q?" I really liked the way the votes went. I am so thrilled that Bucky Heard won. I was wondering if anyone has ever received 350 votes before? I noticed that no one else got that many this year.
What is the most votes on those polls has anyone ever gotten?

Thank you and see you on the 22nd at 8 pm. -Mary

Answer:  I think he had the most votes ever, by polls.

Q?"  Is the Lawrence Welk Theatre still in operation? If
not, where are the Lennon
Sisters performing?

Answer:  It is called the Welk Resort Theatre and the
Lennon Sisters to occasionally perform there.  They will
be in the 2005 Christmas shows with the Gatlin Brothers.
The Lowe Family of Utah performs in the theatre in the
morning and 2005 Branson Critic Best Show winner Darren
Romeo also shares the theatre in the afternoon and
evening.

Q?:  How can I find a tour group going to see Ray Stevens
at his theatre before his final performance on December 3?
I can't drive to Branson and I live in the Louisville, KY
area. Thank you. -Kathleen Crider

Call all the local travel agencies in your area.  I am

Springfield, Mo (Springfield/Branson Airport) that you
could fly into and rent a car.  It is only about 30
minutes from Branson.
