Magnificent 7 Show is Great!November 17, 2005 For the past five years, our annual Branson trip has included going to see Amanda and the Magnificent 7. This year was no exception! When we made our reservations, we ordered lobster dinners for ourselves and chicken fingers for our two children. The meals were delicious! The White House Theater has to be one of the most beautiful theaters in Branson. My husband really enjoyed looking at all of the clocks and we actually ended up buying one for our fireplace mantel. The show was terrific! Even though we are not big yodeling fans, Amanda does this very well. It is interesting to see someone her age carry on this style of music. Joe Tinoco and Tamra Holden are also featured in this show and are talented as well. This show covers a lot of styles of music and the props, costumes and choreography really add to the show. Our favorite part of the first half was Amanda’s rendition of “Put On a Happy Face”. It is really cute to see Amanda transform into a clown on stage. Our kids laughed through the whole song. We also liked the groups section that included songs from the Pointer Sisters, the Bee Gees, the Andews Sisters, the Temptations and others. The second half of the show was Christmas. We loved all of the Santa’s in the opening number as well as the dancing Christmas trees. Amanda’s version of “Mary Did You Know” was excellent, it actually gave me shivers! The kids thought the Rapping Santa’s were hilarious! This show is always entertaining. However, we did get a little tired of the acapella songs towards the end of the Christmas section. The one song we particularly did not like was some spin-off of “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, it was VERY long.
If we were rating this show on a 1(worst) – 10 (best) scale, our
rating would be as follows: Myself – 9 my husband – 8, our 10 year
old – 9 and our 7 year old – 8. This show should be on everyone’s
list to see! -Mary Heiter
