Darren Romeo Deserves The AwardsWinner of the 2004 Branson Critic Award for Best Show Julia - Baltimore, Maryland - October 17, 2005 I believe
that Darren Romeo deserves the awards for “Best Performer” and “Best
Show” for many reasons. His show is wonderful, and he is a talented,
kind, and caring individual who always puts others before himself.
Darren frequently involves his audience in the show. Whether he’s inviting someone onstage to do a trick, or just having a conversation with someone at their seat, he never breaks his connection with them, Darren’s show is not only great entertainment, but teaches important life lessons and values as well. Darren’s partnership with his assistant, Kristy, is a strong example of teamwork and dedication. They are dedicated to the show and to each other, and they work together as one. Their excellent performance is proof of that. Another important lesson that Darren’s show teaches is that if you work hard and follow your dreams, you can achieve them. Darren is living proof of this statement, as are the honors and praise he frequently receives. Darren is a sensitive, caring, and giving human being. He makes you feel comfortable to be around him and is very warm. He is extremely down-to-earth and deeply cares about his fans. He gives so much to them and to their families. An example of Darren’s kindness is that he took a half an hour after his autograph session following his show to talk with me even though he was exhausted from the show. He could not have been more thoughtful or more generous with his time. Also, he donated the proceeds from his performances following the tsunami to the relief fund. He could have kept the money for himself, but he put other’s needs before his own. While it is easy to get caught up in celebrity, Darren is still very real and sincere. No matter how hectic his career gets, he always acknowledges his admirers and keeps his family close at hand. While success can sometimes distort the reality of entertainers, Darren keeps his fame and pride to himself. He reaches out to others instead of bragging about himself and his accomplishments. Reviewers are constantly praising him for this. I strongly support Darren for the honors of “Best Show” and “Best Performer.” In my opinion, no one is more deserving of them than he is. I am very proud to know him, and I wish him the best of luck in this competition. I hope he Wins in November -Julia - Baltimore, Maryland - October 17, 2005
