Could
He Be For Real - Tony Roi
My husband and I went to Branson on vacation with six other couples.
We were only planning on seeing a couple of shows while in town.
When I saw that there was an
Elvis show, I had to go.
The Music
City Center was a really nice theatre. All of the employees were
very friendly and courteous.
I
didn’t really know what to expect when I sat in my seat to see Tony
Roi’s show. I had never seen an Elvis impersonator live. I’ve been
an Elvis fan for all of my life. I’ve watched every one of his
movies over and over again, have many of his albums and have been to
Graceland three times.
As I sat anxiously waiting for the show to start, the music started
and then I began to hear someone singing. I looked all around but
didn’t see him. I remember thinking that they must be playing an
Elvis song to get the audience pumped up. Then, there he was. I
couldn’t believe how much he looked like Elvis. He wore a black
dress shirt with a signature Elvis collar, a black sports coat and
khaki slacks. I turned to my husband and said, “I can’t believe how
much he looks like him”.
Mesmerized by this man who looked so much like the real thing, I
then
turned to my husband and said, “do you think he’s lip syncing, he
sounds just like him”. I really couldn’t get over his voice, his
looks, his dancing. I was hooked before the first song was finished.
After Tony sang a few songs like “Love Me Tender”, “Suspicious
Minds” he asked who would like to take a picture with him? I
couldn’t pass up that offer. The line began to form and I was in it.
We took our picture then Tony gave me one of the sweetest, sexiest,
softest kisses I’ve ever had.
After intermission, Tony came out in a black leather suit. The
audience went wild. Tony Roi put so much energy and passion into his
performance. I was really amazed by this man. A couple of the songs
that stand out in my mind were “Angel” which he and his backup
singer did a wonderful job on. She really sounded like an “Angel”.
“C’mon Everybody” from Viva Las Vegas and “Don’t Cry Daddy”. Not
only could Tony sing Elvis just like Elvis but he sang a couple of
his original songs and they were great too.
After
the show, which was over two hours long, someone said that Tony
would be signing autographs at the back of the theatre. On the way
out, I bought his CD “Hand in Hand” and the picture that I took with
him earlier. It was finally my turn to meet Tony. I had my picture
autographed and took a picture of him, then the nice man who greeted
us when we entered offered to take a picture of Tony and I together
and of course when it was time to say goodbye, I got another one of
those amazing kisses from Tony. WOW!
Tony Roi’s show was awesome! Since being home, I’ve joined
Tony’s Club and ordered his DVD. Tony is intoxicating. I live too
far to see him again any time soon but hopefully I’ll get to see him
again.
