Cabaret

There are no billboards, posters or rack cards for this show, which is now in its second season. The show is not listed along any of the other shows in any guidebooks and tickets are not available at any of the local ticket outlets. Despite all of this, the Cabaret show in Branson, Missouri consistently draws a sizeable audience each and every performance.

cabaretThe show even made the cover of “417 Magazine” with an enthusiastic four page article (December 2005).

The cast which features musicians, singers, dancers actors, a magician and other specialty acts is usually anywhere from 20 to 30 strong.

The show is “The Branson Underground Friday Night Live Cabaret”. It’s a show by performers for performers, but anyone is welcome to come and watch. Every Friday night at 11:15 PM, some of the most talented performers in Branson take a break from their “Bread and Butter” shows, to have fun with dance, music, comedy, drama and more. Each week brings a completely new and different show.

On any given night, the stage will be filled with powerhouse performances from some of Broadway’s newest musicals, dramatic presentations, Hip Hop, classical and modern dance, country, rock, jazz and gospel music. From the impeccably tight harmonies of the “InstruMen” to the enticingly choreographed numbers by the Cabaret’s very own scantily clad “Kit Kat Girls” the only constant rule here is “Expect the unexpected”.

The show opened last year at the “Nova Theater” which served as a gracious host to the talented ensemble of performers until the end of the year. Without their support, the Cabaret would not have grown as much as it has. This year, however, the Cabaret has moved to a new larger location with greatly improved lights and sound: “The House of Rock”.

This is a show with many stars and no egos. Leading performers from some of Branson’s most successful shows and talented chorus performers from shows all over Branson all work together with one goal in mind: “To share their craft”.

The best part is that all of this is available to anyone with a few extra bucks in their pocket. Admission prices are remarkably low ($5.00 for performers, $10.00 for Branson Residents and $15.00 for everyone else).

So, if you want to share in Branson’s most wonderful and best kept secret, “Come to the Cabaret”, where life is beautiful.
