Babies, Babes and Brawn - Putty in Tony's Hands
My name is Frances Knochelman and I wanted to say that Tony Roi
is the best singer of all time.
I
have seen over 100 of his shows and each one is better that the
last. He is gracious to all fans and no one can beat him when it is
time to sing. He has all audiences in his hands and they love it. I
want to say that he deserves to be performer of the year and any
other awards that you can give. I Love going to Branson.
There is so much to do and it would
take a whole summer to see all and still miss something. I am
writing this so I can submit the review for Betty Kleberger.
She has not been able to submit a review because of the fact that
she has not had a computer to use. I am also submitting the pictures
she took and one of her and Tony. I hope you like it. This is her
Review.
Tony Roi presented five
totally awesome shows the week my husband and I were in Branson (May
8 -16th).
Each show was jam packed with
Tony’s signature songs from Elvis and then some. I left each show
exuberant from all the energy that came from Tony, his Powerhouse
Band and his Angel Singers, Donna and Heather.
Tony’s beautiful resonant voice fills
Music City
Centre Theatre. His range is awesome. The deep low notes he
reaches to the full vibrato of his baritone sound.
He brings the audience alive as he moves gracefully across the
stage, be it
Cha-Cha, Tango, or Rumba. He moves his hips to the music and the
women (including myself) scream , holler, and “whoop it up” to show
our appreciation and “egg him on” for more. He grins as he jokes
with members of his band and the audience. He’s a natural, he knows
how to work the audience to it’s full potential, getting from it
everything he can.
Tony’s fans aren’t just we women, but lots of men, too. While
I was there a man threw red
boxer shorts on the stage, cracking up, Tony and the rest of the
audience. One little girl, around the age of two, clapped and
wiggled to Tony’s music, while sitting on her daddy’s lap. Junior
high aged girls screamed and hollered as Tony did all of the best
moves.
The songs are as awesome as he is, when he adds his personal touch
to them. He sings songs from Elvis’ early years of the 50’s and 60’s
the first half of the show. While the second half reflects the songs
of the 70’s
One song that Elvis never recorded that Tony sang was “Sylvia”. It
showed the range and fullness of his beautiful voice. This new
unheard song, has become one of my favorites. He sings it with so
much expression that he has made is his own. As I sat there
listening, I swore I was hearing and seeing the King himself. Elvis
comes out in Tony’s countenance as I watch him. I have captured the
likeness of Elvis in my pictures. That I ‘ve taken of Tony.
Tony is so wonderful to persons with disabilities. Ladies in
wheel chairs come out of his shows beaming. Tony has just made
there day “as he gives them a scarf and a kiss. The lady next to me
clapped and moved to the music. She would have gotten on stage to
give him a kiss if she could have, but Tony came down to her, so she
could have her picture taken with him and a kiss. That was not the
first time I’d witnessed the same thing, during his shows.
I’ve seen Tony come down to the audience to kiss little babies
on the top of the head during “Be My Teddy Bear”. Tony’s love for
his fans never ceases to amaze me. He is truly a consummate artist
and entertainer.
I have been a fan for a year, now, and I have seen Tony’s show 25
times. Each time is a new and different experience. I will never
forget.
