Brett Daniels Magic and Beyond

What does one sports car, five exotic Macaws, four beautiful women, one innocent bystander and a F-106 Tomcat fighter plane have in common?  They are all made to either appear or disappear under the spell of Brett Daniels in his all new Branson Show, “Magic and Beyond,” being performed at the Grand Palace Theater.  Brett Daniels himself even disappears, from time to time, only to re-appear in some of the oddest places.  Oh yes, one young lady lost her head during Brett’s performance.  Not to worry, she got it back later.

When you first meet Brett Daniels, you are struck with the notion that this guy does not look like a magician.  Then you are struck with a question; what exactly does a magician look like and what is one supposed to look like?  Brett Daniels does not wear fancy sequined or glittery costumes onstage.  As a matter of fact, he wears common street clothes that would mix into any crowd and hardly be noticed.

One of Brett’s strong suits is that he does his magic matter-of-factly.  In other words, he performs illusions as if they were everyday occurrences.

Remember back in 1978 when the first of a trilogy of Superman movies showed up on the theater marquees?  Christopher Reeve, as Superman made flying as common as mailing a letter.  He didn’t say, “watch this,” and fly.  He didn’t make a big deal of his flying; it was simply taken for granted that he could, would and did fly.  He actually made it look easy and something everyone should be able to do.

That is primarily the way Brett Daniels does his legerdemain.  He just does it without the usual magician’s fanfare.  He does not say, “hocus pocus” or “abracadabra,” he simply performs the illusion.  He does wiggle his fingers once in a while and when he wiggles, things happen.

Brett opens his show with spellbinding mysterious things happening that most magicians would close their show with.  He is astounding.

For example, Brett opens his show with the sudden appearance of a Lamborghini.  Yes, a real super sports car, onstage, from which he emerges and introduces himself to the audience.  That folks is an opener.  What comes after that is left for you to see and try as you may, to believe.

Brett does not do things in small ways, he always thinks big and bigger.  You simply will not believe what this man does on the stage of the Grand Palace.  I saw it and my head is still spinning from his performance.  He was beyond great.

Brett Daniels has taken his show literally all over the world, with several extended stops in the Far East.  We are fortunate indeed to have this world-class show right down the street at the Grand Palace Theater.
