Branson's Yellow Rose Motel - Branson

Heath Hawkins

One thing that is almost as overwhelming as choosing a show in Branson is choosing a hotel. There are literally thousands of hotel rooms stretched out over hundreds of hotels, motels and resorts. In my opinion making the right hotel choice is more important than making the right show choice. After all, you will be spending a considerable about of time and money here.

I have stayed at the most expensive hotels in Branson and I have also stayed in some of the cheapest, but most often I find myself somewhere in the middle. I like to find a motel that is affordable, clean, safe, and has friendly service staff. I found all those things and more at the Yellow Rose Motel.

The Yellow Rose Motel is one of those places that guests return to year after year. It did not take me long to realize that many of the employees have been with the motel for many years and they have build relationships with some of the regular guests. Each morning at breakfast, I was amazed as guests would come in for breakfast and were greeted by the breakfast room staff by their first name.

One guest from Iowa said, “My wife have been coming to Branson for almost 25 years. We have stayed at a lot of places, but since we discovered the Yellow Rose Motel about five or six years ago, we only stay here. The rooms are always very clean and Rea and the girls are great.” Rea Link is the motel owner. She shared with me that that they have many guests that return every year.

Check in went smooth without any problems. The staff was very helpful. I knew exactly were my room was and they even volunteered to help me select a great show while in town.

I found my room to be immaculately clean upon arrival. I was also surprised to find two queen sized beds rather than double beds. I later found out that all rooms have either queen or king beds. I am the type that does not sleep well away from home, so I was also pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the beds were. The mattress was not too firm, the sheets were soft and the pillows were icing on the cake.

My walk to the breakfast room the next morning was a delight of beautiful color. The grounds keepers take great pride in making sure the property is attractive. There are flowers and roses growing in every lands capable area. With the roses in full bloom the motel was beautiful. I could see why the name Yellow Rose is appropriate.

They advertised an extended continental breakfast. I was not sure exactly what that meant until I arrived to find hot biscuits and gravy, bubbling oatmeal and grits, as well as the normal cereal and pastries. The biscuits and gravy were an unexpected surprise. Yummy!

Though it was still a little to cool for swimming, the Yellow Rose also has an inviting outdoor pool. Other amenities include FREE local calls, individual controlled heat and air, remote TV, and they even offer special vacation packages that include lodging and shows. Rea Link, owner can even help you plan a group tour or family reunion. The only negative I found was that there was not table in our room. There were two chairs to sit in, but not table. I guess that was the trade off to have the larger beds.

I was relieved to see that the Yellow Rose is not located on the busy Branson Strip. It is located at 3140 Falls Parkway, just off Highway 165 behind The Falls complex. Though it is only minutes from Hwy 76 and all the Branson attractions, you feel like you are away from the hustle and bustle. You do not have to worry about the noise because you will be surrounded by quiet.

I would highly recommend this motel. The facilities are clean and modern and the staff is top notch. Call them for more information. Their rates range from $49-$79 per night depending on the time of the year, but be sure to ask about their specials which can save you between $5-$10 per night. Don’t forget to ask about their special vacation packages that include show tickets.
