Heath Hawkins Biography

Heath Hawkins

Heath is in his late 20’s and an unusual Branson fan.  He is in the age category that Branson strives to attract, yet still struggles to bring in.  He has, however, been hooked on the vacation getaway since childhood.  His friends often tell him that he must be a 70-year-old man trapped in a 28-year-old’s body.  He was born and raised in Caraway, Arkansas, but today he calls Dixon, Missouri home.

Heath is married with one child and two dogs.  Penny is a Yorkshire terrier and Beau Bo is a Poodle.  Heath and his wife are active members of First Baptist Church in Dixon, where his wife Candace serves as Director of Children and Music.  They also direct the church puppet team and publish a monthly eight-page church newspaper.  Their faith plays a major part of their life and affects the type of entertainment choices they make.  Strong family values are a must for them.

Heath is a teacher in the Waynesville School District.  There he teaches Business and Computer Technology classes at Waynesville Middle School.  In 2004 he was recognized by the Missouri Business Education Association as the “New Professional Business Teacher of the Year.”

On their weekends, Heath and Candi love to travel and Branson is one of their favorite spots.  It is close enough for a quick weekend trip, but offers plenty entertainment opportunities for many trips throughout the year.

Heath considers it an honor to be an Entertainment Editor for Branson Critic.  Branson is one of those jewels that families should seek out.  If he can help them decide, ahead of time, the shows and attractions that would be best for their families, then he knows they will enjoy their vacation more and visit Branson again and again.

One feature that readers will want to note in his reviews will be the “seat” review.  Heath will admit that he is not a thin person. So he is always on the lookout for the most comfortable seats in Branson.  He will let you know what he finds in every theatre.

Heath encourages you to let him know what you think of his reviews.  Agree or disagree, your opinion is your opinion.  If you are a theatre or show manager and would like Heath to review your show, he would love to hear from you as well.
