Branson Entertainer Loses Battle With Aggressive, Malignant Brain Tumor

Phoenix, AZ, April 4, 2006

Delene Andre Duesler, star of the Delene Show for the past 7 years in Branson, MO, died Tuesday at 7:32pm CDT of complications caused by a massive brain tumor. She was 48 years old. Her husband, Glenn held her in is arms as she passed away, surrounded by her family and closest friends. Her final few days were spent in a coma in Boswell Memorial Hospital in Sun City, AZ where she was being treated for the symptoms of the tumor.

Duesler, known by her stage name Delene Andre and originally of Southern California, had her own show for the past seven years in Branson where she made her home on about twenty beautiful, rolling acres just north of town. She was in Arizona performing when she started to complain of headaches and loss of balance. After a trip to the ER of a hospital in Phoenix and subsequent tests she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor on March 25th. The location and size of the tumor prevented surgery without the possibility of brain damage. While other treatment options were being explored, she was made as comfortable as possible, but the tumor grew so rapidly and so aggressively that by April 2nd, a little over a week from initial symptoms and diagnosis, she was in a coma with little hope for survival.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Glenn Duesler, her parents Chuck and Rosie Andre of southern California, daughter Christine Rodriguez of Ozark, MO, son Gabriel Rodriguez of Branson, MO and 4 grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for 10am, Friday, April 7th at Holy Name of Mary Church, 724 E. Bonita, San Dimas, CA. There are tentative plans for a service in the Branson area on April 22nd.

An account has been set up a Bank of America in Branson West, MO to accept donations for her medical treatment and expenses, as she had no medical insurance. The family would greatly appreciate any donations her friends and fans would care to give.

Checks should be payable to “The Delene Andre Cancer Fund” and mailed to Bank of America, P.O. Box 1083, Branson West, MO 65737-1083. There is also a benefit concert and silent auction planned in Branson for Sunday, April 23rd at the Celebration City Theater. Tickets are available and can be purchased by calling 1-888-514-2929. More information about the concert, “Delene…sweet dreams of you: A Concert Tribute and Silent Auction” can be found at www.delene.com. Donations to the fund for medical expenses can also be made through links available at the website.

Email to Delene’s family can be addressed to delene@delene.com while cards and letters can be mailed to: P.O. Box 941, Branson, MO, 65616. The family wishes to thank all who have been so generous with their prayers, love offerings, cards and best wishes. Her family and many friends know that Delene was a very determined woman, who loved God and had carloads of faith.
