Expecting Big Things - Branson Brothers

3-29-06 After reading Heath’s and BP’s review of The Branson Brothers Show I felt I needed to write a review myself. I have to agree with BP; the bands never get the credit they deserve! If it weren’t for these talented people backing the singers up, some of the show would just lose their appeal.

Branson BrothersAll of the singers and musicians in this show are great at what they do – but some certainly stand out more than others. I personally LOVE to watch Brad Allen and Dave Short - both of them have so much energy and really get into the entire atmosphere of the whole show.

Sometimes I spend more time watching them than the singers.

I went to this show expecting big things because of what I knew of these performers; never in my life did I expect what I saw. From the song choices, to costuming to the flow it just makes me smile!

It appears as though Jimmy, Dee, Diana, Terry and Brad put their heart and soul into this project, you can see it on their faces when they are up there. Happiness exudes from them.

I love the fact that they use more current country – it seems to appeal to everyone in the audience.

The whole first half is just done with class, and of course the humor of Homer Lee how can you not enjoy this portion of the show? However, I have to admit that the second half is my favorite; I was born in the 70s and therefore love rock, soul ….

In the second half you go on a journey through music that makes me want to get up and dance! Natalie does a great job with “Lipstick on your Collar,” she fits in to the singing, comic role much better than I expected. She is just a fun person to watch.

I love the fact that Dee wears his hair down in the entire second half, and when he sings “Wild Horses”, I melt!

I love that they have Dolly Parton, Hall and Oates, the Rolling Stones and Tony Orlando and Dawn in the show. What a tribute to the music business!

Andre adds the touch of soul that makes you want to hear more and more.

My grandma went with me and she heard sound check and didn’t want to leave the theater – even though the show didn’t start for over an hour. She just wanted to sit in the hall and listen to the wonderful harmony these guys have together.

When I took my parents all they did was laugh the entire time at Terry “Homer Lee”, he does so many different things in this show – but I believe the American Idol contestant is my favorite of his spots.

In my personal opinion I think this show should be up for new show of the year and my vote is with Brad for musician of the year! That man has got a beat that just doesn’t stop!

I would recommend this show to all of those looking for a fun show that would appeal to all ages. Enjoy!
