It was such a pleasure to see Terry Wayne Sanders win the 2005 Branson Critic Best Comedian Award.  The entire audience (over 300 people) at Grand Jubilee, gave a 2 minute standing ovation for the 27 year Branson Entertainment Veteran.  It was more than clear that not only did they adamantly agree he should have won, but in fact he was greatly loved and appreciated in this family community.  Bravo Terry!

Terry Sanders: Best Comedian

Wednesday, November 23, 2005. The 76 Music Hall Theatre hosted the presentation for the 2005 Branson Critic Best Comedian Award. A good crowd was in attendance at The 76 Music Hall that evening. There was a mix of regular show attendees as well as many family and friends who were there specifically to see Terry Sanders receive his award.

Terry Sanders currently performs as Homer Lee and many other hilarious characters twice daily in the Grand Jubilee. He has a following of faithful fans who know him from all the shows he has been in, from Silver Dollar City and even The Vacation Channel.

Here is what some of his fans had to say about him at www.BransonCritic.org:

“The comedian Homer Lee did the pre-show and had all the kids in the audience cracking up. His bits in the show are a riot!”

A fan from Australia wrote, “The comedy of ' Homer Lee ' has to be seen to be believed and I can see why this performer, Terry Sanders has been picked for awards, he tickles the funny bone. Aussies love to relax and enjoy themselves when they go out for the evening and Homer Lee certainly helps.”

Finally a fan from Chaffee, MO wrote, “Terry Sanders as “Homer Lee” is truly a Branson institution in himself. His comedy embodies much of why Branson is a national tourist destination.”  (the fans went nuts, and stood for 2 minutes)

Branson Critic Online could not agree more with the fans. These awards truly are from the fans. On behalf of the editors and owners and fans, (Heath Hawkins presented the 2005 Branson Critic Best Comedian Award to Terry Sanders). He was very humbled to receive the recognition. Congratulations Terry!

Here is the official response from Terry Sanders about the award show

Dear friends,

Words can never truly say 'thank you' enough for making this award come true for me! After 26 years here in Branson, MO. to be recognized for my hard work means so much to me.

I was speechless when I held this award in my own hands & the response from the audience said it all!

Of course, I thank my family first, Dede, Austin, & Evan. My dad, Frank, aunt Loana & uncle Jack, & my grandma Jewell for being there for me on this special occasion. All of my friends at the Grand Jubilee & they know who they are, they mean so much to me too.

There are so many friends who could not be there but, I felt them in spirit!

Looking out into the audience I saw so many faces that I have known since I started in 1980 & for them to still be there supporting like they always have brought tears to my eyes.

I want to thank Heath Hawkins for his support & Doug Holland for this award & for their kind words during this presentation.

God bless you all & know in your hearts how much I truly love you all & wish you only as much happiness as I feel right now! Always, -Terry 'Homer Lee' Sanders

The Hamner Barber Variety Show is hilarious and mysterious at the same time.  Jim Barber's comedy and his talent as a ventriloquist had me crying with laughter and the magic of Dave Hamner was awesome.  Congratulations to this duo and the rest of the cast for winning the 2005 Branson Critic Editor's Choice Award.
